In the past, torque was expressed in kgf·m (kilogram-force meter) based on the gravitational unit system. However, with the enforcement of the new Measurement Act in 1993, it became mandatory to transition to SI units (ISO international standards).
Today, N (Newton) is used as the unit of force, and N·m (Newton meter) is used as the unit of torque.
